What is algae?
Algae is an aquatic organism that spreads in a warmer environment. Basically, your pool water is a breeding ground for algae on hot, sunny days — but only if you don’t take the steps to prevent it. There’s no need to fear algae when HTH™ is here!
What are the different algae types?
There are over 30,000 species of algae in the world, but luckily, there are only three common types of pool water algae that you need to watch out for.

Green Algae
Green and murky in appearance, it clings to the walls of your pool
Black Algae
Black blobs that lurk in hard-to-reach corners of your pool
Mustard Algae
With a dirt-like appearance, it contains chlorine-resistant compounds
